Barabara Nichols
Ms. Nichols has unique experience in meta data modeling and management with particular focus on integration in repository-based environments. She was a founder of the Data Management Program in 1982 at Digital Equipment Corporation, producing the companies first Engineering Standard for meta data. Ms. Nichols was a principal and founder of Dovetail Software, a provider of innovative semantic data integration technology, a company which was later sold to Ardent Software, now Ascential Software. At Ascential Ms. Nichols was the MetaStage product evangelist and expert. She was a frequent presenter with Bill Inmon and David Marco in 2001 and 2002. In her consulting practice Ms. Nichols specializes in data and meta data solutions that emphasize implementation of a successful, sustainable path forward to optimize the benefits of data to your business. She provides specialized implementation and training in meta data best practices using DataStage XE.
